Laura

Laura is grateful that her mother first introduced her to yoga at twelve years old to help with anxiety and insomnia - it’s made a huge difference for her! Laura began to practice yoga regularly in college and in 2017 became certified as a vinyasa yoga teacher. In 2017, Laura started working at the front desk of Tangerine Yoga in Brooklyn, NY, which she and her husband now own and operate.

After graduating from Northwestern University in 2010, Laura spent 10 years working in healthcare consulting, primarily on oncology treatments. Through her consulting work and going through cancer with her father and grandparents, Laura felt a strong pull to work with people living with cancer. In 2020, Laura completed an online Yoga for the Cancer Patient training through Memorial Sloan-Kettering. As Laura learned more about teaching yoga to people with cancer, she gained an appreciation for how much she had yet to learn and enrolled in a two-year Master of Science in Yoga Therapy program at Maryland University of Integrative Health (expected graduation Summer, 2022).
