Anne

Anne began practicing yoga at the East/West Himalayan Society in NYC more than 30 years ago. She has enjoyed teaching for the past five years. Anne received her 200-hour certification from Thrive Yoga and Simon Says Yoga. She also obtained a 40-hour certification in Senior Yoga from Peggy Cappy and trained in adaptive yoga with Sherry Zak Morris and Justine Shelton. In addition to Circle Yoga, Anne teaches at Simon Says Yoga, St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, Iona Senior Center, and her home yoga studio. She also is a regular guest teacher at American University working with undergraduate students.


Anne has extensive experience teaching Gentle Yoga to a broad cross section of students ranging from young adults to seniors and those who are recovering from injuries, offering adaptive modifications when needed. With her encouraging teaching approach, Anne focuses on her students? strengths in order to support their personal journeys throughout each class. Anne takes an integrated approach to yoga, weaving together a mindful physical experience, attention to breath, meditation techniques, and restorative yoga poses. Her objective is to provide her students with a gentle sense of peace and ease in the body and mind in a joyful, safe, and supportive community.
