Flow yoga classes involve moving through sequences of poses in rhythm with the breath. The focus is on dynamic movement, refining the transitions that link poses together, and building strength and flexibility for more challenging postures. In Flow Level 2 classes, students work with more complex standing pose sequences and explore the subtler actions of the postures for better alignment. Students will also explore inversions, such as headstand and handstand, and arm balances, such as crow pose. Students should be very comfortable in Flow Level 1-2 classes before taking Flow Level 2 classes. Flow Level 2 is not appropriate for students who are new to yoga.

Wendy is a Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and former ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified fitness instructor with a background in dance. She has practiced yoga regularly since 1994, starting with the Kripalu and Bikram styles in Burlington, VT. She began practicing Ashtanga in 1999, when she moved to Washington, DC. Rebecca Kanin

Rebecca has been teaching yoga for over a decade. She teaches a slow flow class and hopes that yogis of all levels feel comfortable in her class. Beyond movement, Rebecca loves developing community in her classes. Rebecca is from DC and taught at Washington Yoga Center before joining the Circle Yoga community.

Stephanie P. Preller

Stephanie’s yoga journey began after moving to a new city in search of community. She was immediately hooked and quickly became a regular practitioner. Stephanie completed her 200-hour teacher training, where she was trained to teach vinyasa and power yoga styles. When Stephanie became pregnant with her first child, she began practicing prenatal yoga, which was instrumental in helping her cultivate the physical strength and sense of calm and ease that was so important during her pregnancy and throughout new parenthood. This inspired Stephanie to go on to complete her 85-hour prenatal yoga training. Stephanie has also completed Yoga for Baby and Toddlers and Trauma Informed Yoga trainings. She believes it's truly a privilege to support folks during the special and challenging time of pregnancy and postpartum, and to share the many gifts she received from her own experience. Stephanie’s goal is to provide accessible, well rounded, and empowering classes that emphasize the mind-body connection.

Jen Dryer

Jen is a native New Yorker who moved to DC in January 2009, after 14 years of living in NYC. She began her journey into yoga in 1996 to help combat the stress of life as a NYC public school teacher, and since then has made yoga an integral part of her world. She completed her 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher training at Sonic Yoga in NYC in 2006, under the amazing wisdom and guidance of Lauren Hanna and Jonathan Fields. She was trained in both Prana Flow yoga and Power yoga styles, reflecting her teachers' diverse backgrounds. The variety in her training has served her well, and made her practice and teaching style well rounded. Now as a mother of two sweet boys (Zack and Max), she is ever more thankful for yoga, which has proven invaluable both physically and mentally throughout her pregnancies, recoveries and in motherhood. Jen also teaches prenatal, postnatal, children's and family yoga classes. She completed the Every Kid's Yoga: Teaching Yoga to Children with Special Needs training in 2017 at Circle Yoga.

What to expect in class

Jen's classes embody creative flow and mindful movement, while also attending to anatomy, alignment and breath. She is attentive to providing alternatives and modifications to support her students and their myriad needs, providing students the opportunity to connect with their bodies and find joy in the poses and the transitions, all while keeping the class flowing and the students smiling (whenever possible!)

Rachel Henry

Rachel's yoga journey began in 2005. What started as a means to “work out” very quickly evolved into a place of deep reconnection with the self. The process of integrating mind, body and breath opened a new world for Rachel. A world with more self compassion, self awareness, clarity, serenity and empowerment. Rachel graduated from RYT 200 program at Blue Heron Wellness in 2013. Her classes are light-hearted and lively and also offer an opportunity to dig deep into the potential of your postures and personal practice. You'll peel away the layers to re-connect with your natural, unique gifts and let your inner light shine. You can expect attention to alignment to help fine-tune your asanas, as well as a sweet flow. Rachel is continuously inspired by her three playful, young children and supportive husband. She is deeply grateful for her teachers, who bring inspiration to her practice and her teaching offerings.
